Wow, this is weird, because my uncle shoots photos of birds at barnegat light and Forsythe NWR. Small world that I would stumble across your art!

Small world indeed! :D That part of New Jersey (together with Cape May) is a national hotspot for birding, so your uncle has chosen a good location.

I have to say these are among my favorite ducks. I kind of miss the old name though, even if it was horribly un-PC. Never seen them in breeding plumage though, just lost ones in winter.

From my experience with birders, a lot of them (particularly the older ones) still refer them as oldsquaws. It is a pretty un-PC name though, lol.
