Tufted Tit-drome by EWilloughby Tufted Tit-drome by EWilloughby
Probably the speediest speedpaint I've ever uploaded on DA... ~15 minutes in Photoshop.

I don't usually condone copying the exact color schemes of extant birds for use in serious paleoart, but this is not serious paleoart, and tufted titmice are freaking adorable. Also my standards for uploading speedpaint crap is apparently pretty low at the moment because everything I'm working on currently is unable to be released to the public until January at the earliest, and I don't want this account to look totally dead in the interim, so.

Out of curiosity, is this a particular species or just a generic dromaeosaur w/the Tufted Titmouse's color scheme?

The color schemes on this piece looks freezing cold! ;)

It's like an Arctic mini raptor. :D

And it reminds me of a blue jay but with lighter feathers and with more white hues mixed into it's blue, it's very pretty.

Fifteen minutes. Wow. You did such a good job. You also inspired me to draw a little dromie based off of the White-crested Helmetshrike.

I also share your sentiment about people copying the exact color schemes of extant birds (or other animals) to use in their paleoart. There's little to no chance that an extinct animal would have the exact same patterning as an animal that has been extinct for millions of years. :P But this is freaking adorable, and it can be fun to draw dinosaurs with the colors of living birds. :D Great work as always.

Thanks. :) They're a series of watercolor bird paintings for a museum. I don't know off the top of my head how many there are, but it's something like ~40 watercolors and a handful of digitals and digital diagrams. They should be all ready to be released to the public early next year.

Wow!  I was not expecting that many paintings!  Gee, 40ish is sure a lot!  And I just love watercolor birdies!  Again, I cannot wait to see them.
